MTData is happy to announce we now partner with Picobyte (RUC Monkey) to provide compliant Road User Charges solutions for our New Zealand customers.

What is Road User Charges (RUC)?

Anyone using New Zealand’s roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies in the price of their fuel. Others pay through road user charges (RUC). Road users help pay for New Zealand’s land transport system through road user charges (RUC).

RUC is a distance charging system that applies to all vehicles using a motive power other than petrol. Owners of vehicles that don’t use petrol as their primary fuel, such as diesel cars, and heavy vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes, such as trucks, buses and some trailers, must pay RUC.

MTData now is able to provide truck drivers in New Zealand with an electronic road user charge solution thanks to this partnership with Picobyte.
